Yes — it is the booking we see most from clubs. The first floor takes 4 to 24 members, with one booking on the floor at a time, so no other party is seated while you are meeting and nobody passes through.

Most clubs settle on the Heritage Breakfast at ₹499 a member for the regular meeting: South Indian breakfast, unlimited filter kaapi, and the private floor for two hours.

Boardroom, U-shape or a long table — tell us how your meeting runs and it is set that way before members arrive. The floor is fully air-conditioned.

Yes, and this is where we differ from a hotel. We open at 6:00 AM, so a breakfast meeting can start early and members can be at their desks by half past nine. Charminar itself only opens at 9, so the precinct is quiet at that hour.

Yes — the venue runs to 12 midnight. Evening meetings, dinners and speaker sessions all sit comfortably on the private floor.

One thing to note: the booking line is 10 AM to 7 PM. If something changes at nine at night, send a WhatsApp rather than calling.

The ground floor is open walk-in from 6 AM to midnight, so an early member can sit downstairs with a filter kaapi until the floor is ready.

The Heritage Breakfast holds the floor for two hours and the Club Half-Day for four. If your meeting habitually runs longer, say so when you book and we will build the right format rather than have you watching the clock.

It is the most common club question and it is not a problem. Give an indicative number when you book and confirm the real figure 24 hours before. Billing is against the final headcount, not the optimistic RSVP list.

The floor takes 4 to 24, so a meeting that swings between twelve and twenty does not need a different venue.

48 hours for anything with a speaker, walk, workshop or craft session — the guide, the maker or the curator has to expect you.

For a curated talk, more than 48 hours is better. Plan it into your calendar rather than the week before.

Within the floor's capacity of 24 we will seat them and add them to the bill. Beyond that we cannot, because only one booking sits on the floor at a time — so if your meeting could realistically exceed 24, talk to us before the date rather than on it.

The floor works from 4 guests, though the minimums vary by format — the Heritage Breakfast and Club Half-Day start at 8 members, the Deccani Round Table at 12. A board sitting of six fits the Club Half-Day comfortably; ask and we will fit the format to the group.

Tell us early and it is almost always straightforward — moving a booking is easier than cancelling one. The formal cancellation terms are set out in your written quote, so the committee has them before it commits.

This is usually the reason clubs choose us. The kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian with no eggs anywhere in the building — not in the food, not in the bakery, on any floor — and the premises are alcohol-free throughout.

Nobody has to ask what is in anything, no member eats separately, and a family evening stays a family evening.

Yes — Jain and no-onion-no-garlic, both on advance notice. Flag it when you book, not when you arrive, so the kitchen prepares properly rather than improvising.

You should know plainly that the premises are alcohol-free, without exception, on both floors. Alcohol cannot be served or brought in.

For most clubs this is the point — it is what makes a family evening or an official visit straightforward. But if your fellowship night depends on a bar, we are honestly not the right venue for that particular event.

Raise it before you confirm. This is not an allergen-free kitchen — milk, wheat, nuts, lentils and a wide range of spices are handled daily in the same space and we cannot promise the absence of cross-contact. We would rather tell you honestly in advance than have a member discover it at the table.

Yes, and the pure-vegetarian, alcohol-free setting means the whole membership can bring their families without a second thought. Ground-floor seating is step-free, which helps with older parents and small children.

Yes. Projector, screen and Wi-Fi on request — say so when you book and it is set up before members arrive rather than fetched halfway through. Because only one booking sits on the floor, a speaker can actually be heard.

Yes, and this is genuinely useful to a programme chair. Kaapi & Karam sits inside the Kalakriti ecosystem — an art gallery, archive and cultural platform whose holdings include over 10,000 historic maps and 9,000 vintage photographs of this city and the Deccan.

We can curate the session as well as host it: a talk on the Deccan and the Nizams, an archive-led session on this quarter, a craft demonstration, or the filter-coffee ritual as a short opening.

A craft demonstration with a maker at a bench: lac bangles, attar and distillation, Bidri, pearls or Deccani textiles. The attar session is consistently what visitors remember longest — the Deccani perfume tradition is four hundred years old and the chemistry of it lands well with a mixed room.

Yes — the Charminar Heritage Experience at ₹999 a member is a guided Old City walk with proper context, a kaapi tasting, and a meal upstairs, over three to four hours. It is the usual choice for a fellowship outing. Needs 48 hours.

Yes — that is what the Full Floor Buyout at ₹20,000 flat is for: exclusive use of the whole floor for up to 24, with a curated menu built around the occasion.

Above roughly 16 members, usually yes — and it removes the headcount question entirely, which matters on a night when the guest list keeps moving. Worth putting both figures in front of the board and letting them choose.

24 on the private floor. That is a real limit, not a soft one. If your installation night runs to sixty or a hundred, we are not the venue for it — and it is better that you know that now than after the invitations have gone out.

Yes. Tell us the running order when you book — the room is set for it, service is timed around the programme rather than through it, and the projector is ready before anyone arrives.

Yes — Dignitary & Delegation Hosting at ₹1,999 a member, for 2 to 16. Full private service, a bespoke menu, arrival and departure coordinated, and a heritage briefing if the visit calls for one.

It is one of the better uses of the room. A pure-vegetarian, alcohol-free table answers halal, kosher, vegetarian, fasting and religious observance at once, before any visitor has to declare anything — which matters with an international group you cannot politely interrogate about diet.

And the Old City at the door is a considerably better memory to send someone home with than a hotel ballroom.

Yes — a GST invoice issued to the club or trust, with purchase orders and cheque payment accepted. On the day, cash and UPI; there is no card facility.

A 50% advance applies above 10 members and for any Full Floor Buyout. Below that, settlement is on the day against the pre-agreed figure.

Yes, and you should. Send the club name, the kind of meeting, the date and an indicative headcount, and a written per-member figure comes back — usually the same day. That is the document to put in front of the board.

Yes, under a standing arrangement — an agreed per-member rate held for the year so the treasurer budgets the term rather than the meeting. See the standing arrangement section below.

Parking is guaranteed against a confirmed KnK Private booking, held and coordinated by our desk rather than left to chance. Drop-off is on the main road frontage beside Sardar Mahal, so members alight at the door.

Members walking in to the ground floor without a booking get drop-off, but not a reserved space — an honest limitation of the precinct.

No. There is no lift in the building and the private floor is up a staircase.

The ground floor is step-free at street level, so a member who cannot manage stairs is seated comfortably downstairs — but it is a more public room. If several of your members would struggle with a staircase, tell us at the planning stage and we will look at setting the whole meeting on the ground floor instead.

We are on a main road in clear public view with drop-off at the door, which removes most of it. Traffic through the precinct is heavier from late afternoon, so an evening meeting is worth calling for 7 PM rather than 6:30 if members are coming from Banjara Hills or the IT corridor.

Complimentary filter kaapi and a snack for drivers on every visit. They wait comfortably rather than in the car.

Yes — that is what a standing arrangement is for. Your slot is held for the year, the same day and time each month or fortnight, blocked in the diary and released only if you tell us. Each meeting becomes a confirmation rather than a negotiation.

Confirm the headcount 24 hours before. That is the whole obligation. Bookings are recorded against a club code, a GST invoice follows each meeting, and a month-end summary goes to the secretary so the year is visible in one place.

The arrangement carries over. Tell us who the incoming secretary and treasurer are and the code, the slot and the rate continue without renegotiation — which is usually a relief to a president taking office.
